Victorian Corsets

Authentic custom made Victorian-style corsets made using flat or spiral steel bones, for that hourglass figure and a waistline you never believed you had!

Features

Bust-gore corset

These beautiful garments were originally designed as underwear, but are more than acceptable as outer or party wear these days and are surprisingly comfortable even when laced quite tight.

The corsets are designed to minimise the waist, while remaining reasonably loose around the bust and hips. Unlike Edwardian style corsets, they do not try to force an unnatural bend into the spine. The front is fastened with a steel busk and the back is laced, with an intentional 2 inch gap when done up.

A modesty panel can be attached if required, but these corsets are best worn over a chemise or top as they only reach the bust line at the top. The corset is constructed with 20 encased steel bones for effective waist reduction.

Fabrics

Corsets can be made from traditional unlined cotton Coutil (corset fabric with no stretch) or your choice of fabric - satin, velvet, brocade or bridal fabrics - and lined with sturdy cotton drill for support. Stretch or extemely delicate fabrics are not suitable for corsetry, except in a decorative capacity.

Styles

Various styles are available from a simple straight style, one with bust gores and curved seams or even a waist cincher. Elizabethan and Renaissance style bodices or modern style bustiers can also be made - these will not contain steel bones.

Prices

Prices start from around £175 for a custom made, unlined, coutil corset in a basic Victorian style. This is just a guideline. Final price will depend upon choice of materials, style and size. Contact me to discuss your requirements and get an estimate.
